2008 was a year of change for much of society, and "Kevin & Kell" was no exception. Kevin landed on the Rabbit Council, Coney became a force for protecting the meek, Kell helped resolve the predator strike, Lindesfarne continued to rebuff the wedding pressure of her future in-laws and Rudy's late father finally found eternal peace The biggest change, however, was the creation of The Bill Holbrook Store; the vehicle for selling the collections now produced by Moonbase Press. It's a big step, and one that will hopefully keep the strip afloat through this uncertain economic climate.

The thirteenth "Kevin & Kell" book collection "Pregnant Paws" is now available. It contains all of the material from 2006, including the birth of Danielle's unclassifiable baby Francis, and a foreward by Pete Abrams of "Sluggy Freelance." We are also replacing the first five books with two complete treasuries. The first is "The Historic Kevin & Kell" and features the material from September 1995 to March 1998 along with all of the the Sunday-format strips I did during that period for Boardwatch Magazine, sketches from the genesis of the strip and a never-before-seen spinoff feature starring Rudy. Buying books, along with the role playing game and dice pouches, is an excellent way to support the strip. Don't forget that there is also an actual Hare-Link Internet Service provider for your internet hosting needs. Speaking of books, the next collection will feature the strips of 2007 in which Lindesfarne finally accepts Fenton's marriage proposal. The title will be "Rules of Engagement," and will be available in mid-2009. The back cover will feature furry caricatures of the high-level patrons; for details go here.

If you're a regular reader of "Kevin & Kell," please introduce your friends, relatives and co-workers to the world of the Dewclaws. Some new readers are intimidated by the sheer number of strips in the archives, but the strip is structured so that anyone can start on any date and not get lost. If you click on the "About" link, you can get more basic information about the characters. Make sure to regularly read Lindesfarne's Blog for weekly updates.

In January, "Kevin & Kell" will have spent five years in the print edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Since the circulation of the AJC is larger than my online audience, the bulk of my readers see it there. I'll keep you updated on the results of their recent comics poll.
