Rudy Dewclaw is now on Facebook, and awaits your participation. (Readers may remember that he used to be on MyTree, but we all know what happened to that.) I also have two new Tumblr sites, where you can keep up with "Kevin & Kell" and "On the Fastack." Lindesfarne's Virtual Quill; is both on her classic site, and also on Tumblr! Second, "Fastrack's" friendly Goth character posts every weekday at Dethany's Mortuary. As another social media reminder, Catherine Aura tweets on her continuing struggles to maintain balance between the dimensional portals. There is now a Facebook page for my "Safe Havens" comic strip, joining the one that features Dethany of "Fastrack."
Congratulations to the Daily Ink app, which was voted as the People’s Champ in the Funny category in the 2011 Pixel Awards. This app includes all of the King Features strips, including "On the Fastrack" and "Safe Havens." Meanwhile, in other app news the "Kevin & Kell" app for the iPhone and iPad is availablefrom WareTo!
Looking ahead to this year's con schedule, I'm cutting back on my personal appearances. The big news is my first-ever appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego in July, in addition to my regular visit to Anthrocon in Pittsburgh. I'll be at Furry Weekend Atlanta and Momocon on the same weekend in March in adjacent hotels, and I hope to be invited back to Dragoncon and Otakon.
Please check the latest from Moonbase Press: "Dethany, the Corporate Goth" and the latest annual collections of "Fastrack" and "Safe Havens": "iPatina" and "On Tour."
.
Also, "Honeymoon 2.0," the sixteenth (!) collection of "Kevin & Kell" featuring the complete year of 2009, is now on sale at The Bill Holbrook Store! For the store's complete list, go here.
Brendan Burford, my editor at King Features, has started a blog discussing comics from a historical perspective. Please check it out here.
For those of you following "Safe Havens," you know that Bambi has concluded her concert tour with her single "Free Range Love." I'm delighted to announce that you can now listen to the mp3, so please check it out. :) I wrote the lyrics, and Bambi is performed by my sister, Susan Holbrook Ridarick. The band includes two former members of Riggs, who were on 1981's "Heavy Metal" movie soundtrack. (They did the opening "Soft Landing" segment of the film.) King Features has issued a press release about it here.
Don't forget! The comic book that I illustrated, "A Duel in the Somme", is now available for purchase as a hard copy. You can also show your support for it at Rob Balder's tip jar , so please help him out.
Finally, here are Google Groups for each of my strips:
To join each group you'll be asked to name your favorite character, which is mainly to prove that you're a real person. :)
